A drive of approximately 58 kilometers from Palma de Mallorca toward the municipality of Pollensa brings you to the Golf Pollensa course, located in the north of the island. Designed by José Gancedo, the facility opened in 1986 and underwent a complete redesign in 2004. During this process, a strong emphasis was placed on environmental protection; for instance, the course is irrigated using its own dedicated water treatment plant.
Golf Pollensa is beautifully integrated into the Mallorcan landscape, with ancient olive trees lining the fairways. The course is challenging—generally considered to be of moderate to high difficulty. It is a 9-hole, par-35 layout spanning 2,608 meters, situated on a small rise. From this vantage point, golfers can enjoy occasional views of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range and the Bay of Pollensa.
The holes are highly varied and demanding, requiring a thoughtful strategy. Players will encounter greens that are difficult to approach, two water hazards, complex doglegs, and an inviting rough. The fairways blend seamlessly into the terrain between the sea and the mountains. Golfers should be prepared for a physically demanding round. The driving range, which runs uphill, features 14 hitting bays, an area for practicing chips and pitches, and a putting green. Naturally, it is also equipped with an automatic ball dispenser and a club-cleaning station.
The clubhouse is located on a small rise. It houses changing rooms with showers, a golf reception, a pro shop, and the restaurant “El Gallo Rojo.” The clubhouse is open to both members and guests.
