This golf course is located in the municipality of Son Vida, approximately 3 kilometers from the center of the capital, Palma. Together with the Golf Son Quint and Golf Son Vida courses, it is part of the Arabella Sheraton Golf Group; it lies just 400 meters away from the latter.
Golf Son Muntaner was completed and opened in May 2000 under the direction of architect Kurt Rosenknecht. Since 2006, it has been open to outside guests upon payment of a green fee; prior to that, it was reserved exclusively for guests staying at the two Arabella Sheraton properties.
Regarded as one of the top golf courses on Mallorca, it owes its reputation in part to its expansive, varied fairways, undulating greens, and carefully designed streams and water features. A 15-kilometer-long pipeline was installed to irrigate the fairways.
Measuring 6,036 meters from the yellow tees, this 18-hole, par-72 course is considered one of the most beautiful—and most challenging—on the Balearic island. It is therefore no surprise that Golf Son Muntaner presents a high level of difficulty and has been discussed as a potential venue for the Open Baleares.
The course’s driving range is exceptionally well-maintained and offers everything a golfer needs for effective practice. It features 75 hitting bays, putting greens, three practice holes, short-game areas with greens and bunkers, as well as an automatic ball dispenser and a club-cleaning station.
The clubhouse, situated on an elevated spot, is built in a traditional Mallorcan style. The restaurant terrace overlooks the golf course, offering a beautiful view of most of the fairways. In addition to the restaurant, the clubhouse includes changing rooms with showers and a pro shop.
