Located in the municipality of Bunyola, approximately 10 kilometers from the capital, Palma de Mallorca, lies the Golf Son Termes course. Surrounded by mountains and wooded slopes, the course has been integrated into the landscape exactly as the enchanting terrain of the Tramuntana mountain range dictated. You will find no intrusive buildings here to spoil the idyllic setting.
The course was designed by the Harris architectural group in 1998, initially featuring 11 holes. It was officially opened by Emma Villacieros, President of the Spanish Golf Federation (Federación Española de Golf). Seven additional holes were later added, and since the beginning of 2000, the facility has offered a full 18-hole layout.
What you won’t find at Golf Son Termes are wide, sweeping fairways. The holes are so narrow that the course could almost be described as an “alpine” challenge, demanding a high degree of precision from every golfer. The terrain can also be physically demanding to navigate, so using a golf buggy is a sensible option. The hilly landscape—which includes several “blind” tee shots—requires careful, well-considered play. Even once you reach the green, your score can still be challenged by significant undulations, demanding total concentration right to the very end.
Given the demanding nature of the course, a warm-up session on the driving range is highly recommended. Added at a later stage, the range is located below the clubhouse, on the way to the first tee.
For practicing the short game, there is a very spacious putting and chipping area available. However, the driving range itself is relatively small, meaning its capacity for accommodating groups is somewhat limited. The clubhouse has been kept in the Mallorcan style, allowing it to blend naturally into the mountainous landscape. Inside, however, everything is ultra-modern. Members and guests are warmly welcomed and will find a pro shop, changing rooms with showers, and a restaurant serving local cuisine. From here, there is a fantastic panoramic view across the plains of Palma.
