This golf course is located 12 kilometers east of Palma, in the municipality of Llucmajor. The Maioris Group commissioned German architect Dieter Carbus to design the facility. When the course opened in 2006, it operated as a private members’ club, accessible only to shareholders—with a share costing 18,000 euros at the time. In 2007, however, the shareholders decided to open the course to “green fee” players (non-members), initially restricting this access to weekdays (Monday through Friday). There is currently talk of transitioning the facility back into a private club in the medium term.
Golf Maioris is an 18-hole, par-72 course. To preserve the natural character of the landscape, the course was integrated into the existing terrain without altering the original topography. As a result, it is framed by countless wild olive and carob trees, as well as numerous pine trees. Notably, there are no buildings along the course, allowing players to focus entirely on their game. This is a welcome feature, as the course is considered moderately challenging and varied; a sea breeze often comes into play—adding a strategic element to the round while providing a refreshing coolness on hot days.
Golf Maioris is regarded as one of the best courses in Spain, frequently hosting both national and international tournaments. The second nine holes, in particular, demand both skill and strategy from players, as the layout is dominated by challenging water hazards. At the same time, the course is accessible for beginners, thanks to its wide fairways and excellent greens.
The facility includes a driving range, a chipping area, and a putting green. Players can practice independently or with the guidance of a professional instructor.
